If there are no moorings, you have no bearings.
Values, belief, purpose have fickle grounding.
Knowledge and experience are no compass to life.
They tend to be but impressions formed
adrift on journeys without direction.
And now,
Thought needs to be called up and
emotion rarely rings a bell.
Superficial solitude.
The protective husk of an empty shell.
